Thick as a brick

London, Uk

The Brief: Draw the residential building designs for three houses, each one three floors high, in a continuous block.

The Challenge: Make it look different to the other town houses in the street yet add some common touches.

The Project: Sitting on a street corner in a London suburb, the property developers wanted a contemporary residential building design. The client wanted it to stand out from the nearby properties so we drew up plans that look like a typical modern London apartment block. Except they’re not. The plans are for three houses, each three stories high.

The project took into account the surrounding streets and maintained the typical brick aesthetics of British houses, but we opted for a yellow hue instead of red bricks. The 3-bedroom town houses have been designed for modern London living each with 2 bathrooms and 1 en suite bedroom. They all have a good sized kitchen and living room on the ground floor while the bedrooms are on the top two floors.

To give it a somewhat familiar vibe, we drew the residential building design with windows of similar height to those in the rest of the street.

The result is three modern town houses that were sold extremely quickly!
