The Brief: Convert a former office into a stylish three-bedroom apartment in central Milan.
The Challenge: To capture the character of the city with a high-end home interior design finish.
The Project: When you think of Milan, you think industrial-chic; low-key and minimalist buildings. Yet the city pervades a warm and welcoming atmosphere, a feeling that dances through the streets. We wanted to capture that by harmonising these two traits in this home interior design project.
First up, we altered the layout of the former office to give a sense of continuity throughout the apartment; larger rooms, removing corridors and adding bathrooms. We used mellow colours and soft lighting to reflect the warmth of Milan in the home interior design. We added a walk-in closet, a new hallway, and bespoke, stylish furniture. We went for a minimalist look as a nod to the city’s low-key style, but being in Italy’s fashion capital, we added Italian chic with high-end materials such as Carrara marble and hardwood.
The result is a family apartment that made use of all the space and has become a welcoming home; interior design carefully planned out has made it just that.
